Ford had 600 warranty claims by the end of March 2012, prompting the company
to recall over 465,000 Ford vehicles worldwide.
The “voluntary” recall includes the 2013 models of –
Explorer, Taurus, Flex, Fusion, Interceptor Utility, Interceptor Sedan,
Lincoln MKS, MKT & MKZ.
All the recalls are due to concerns of fuel leaks in a fuel delivery module,
which could result in possible fuel spills and/or gasoline odor.
Ford informed the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (N.H.T.S.A.)
that it was investigating the problem which began in October, but it was
not until this spring that Ford could be certain of the cause of the defect.
