MEET ATTORNEY GEOFF MOORE: Geoff is deeply involved with every nursing home abuse case at The Maher Law Firm. But his advocacy doesn’t stop with just MLF clients. Geoff is working tirelessly as a part of the Florida Justice Association Nursing Home Task Force to ensure HB1239, sponsored by Florida Senator Albritton, passes. This Bill, which was signed into law by Governor Ron Desantis in April, will greatly help seniors get the support and care they deserve in nursing homes—especially with staffing shortages due to Covid-19.
"From our perspective, this legislation is a compromised bill that leads to much greater transparency of the nursing home industry, including audit reports of their company financials and mandates requiring notification of claimants regarding changes of ownership during a litigation,” Attorney Geoff Moore said. "Currently they don’t have to notify regarding change of ownership and play the ‘shell game’ leaving no assets to collect in a lawsuit with the at fault company.”
As another part of his advocacy, Geoff has given lectures to hundreds of peers at seminars across the state.
